What's Bugging Me in the Forest

Abstract:

V rámci této diplomové práce autor, prostřednictvím figurativní malby, systematicky popisuje vybrané motivy situované uvnitř revíru Bílý vlk, ležícího v prostoru jižního výběžku Ždánického lesa. Na základě práce s touto tématikou se pokouší o výstižnou osobní charakteristiku této, pro něho, zcela výjimečné lokality. Zobrazované předměty svým tvarem odkazují zejména k různým typům mysliveckých zařízení, především k posedům, a vzájemně tvoří síť strategických bodů, které v jeho životě sehrávají dlouhodobě zásadní roli. Tyto objekty jsou zkoumány ve své vizuální mnohoznačnosti a stávají se záminkou k širším úvahám daleko přesahujícím tematický rámec lesního prostředí. Praktickým výstupem tvůrčího procesu, nesoucího v sobě jak prvky plenéru, tak i ateliérové tvorby, bude série akrylových maleb. Součástí práce je fotodokumentace dokládající průběh celé výtvarné anabáze. V teoretické části autor podrobně popisuje předpoklady vedoucí k vlastní malbě.

Abstract:

In this thesis the author uses figurative painting to systematically describe chosen motives in the region Bílý Vlk, that is situated in the southern part of Ždánice Forest. The author works with this theme and tries to accurately characterize this locality that is very special for him. The shape of displayed objects refers to different hunting facilities, especially hides. These objects create a web of strategical points, which have an important role in the hunter’s life. The author examines the visual ambiguity of these objects and uses them for wider considerations that go beyond the thematic framework of the forest. The practical output of the creative process, which bears elements of plein-air as well as of atelier painting, is series of acrylic paintings. Photodocumentation that provides evidence of the whole creative anabasis is also part of the thesis. The theoretical part describes the premises leading to the painting.
