Implementation of a highly available cluster with Red Hat Cluster Suite

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce bylo vytvoření vysoce dostupného clusteru s použitím specializovaného řešení Red Hat Cluster Suite na libovolné linuxové distribuci. V teoretické části bakalářské práce jsou představeny clustery obecně a také podrobnější seznámení s problematikou vysoce dostupných clusterů. Tato teoretická část je pak převedena do praktické úrovně, kdy se čtenář v jednotlivých krocích dozví, jak úspěšně implementovat vysoce dostupný Active - Passive cluster pro webový server. V závěru této bakalářské práce je ukázáno, jak tento vysoce dostupný cluster reaguje na jednotlivé výpadky a jak je schopen zajistit kontinuální chod, či obnovení vysoce dostupné služby v určitém časovém intervalu.

Abstract:

Topic of this bachelor thesis was to create a Highly Available Cluster by using a Red Hat Cluster on any Linux distribution. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with a presentation of clusters in general as well as with the Highly Available Clusters? issues. Later on, the theoretical part is converted into a practical stage that helps the reader to learn how to successfully implement a highly available Active - Passive cluster for web server. The conclusion of this thesis shows the abilities of the highly available cluster in terms of its reactions to individual stoppages and describes its capability of ensuring a permanent operation, or restoring highly accessible services in a particular span.
