Roman law at medieval universities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá studiem římského práva na středověkých univerzitách, kdy hlavní část je věnována době od znovuobjevení sbírek římského práva ve 12. století. Cílem práce bylo vymezení slavného příchodu a působení středověkých římskoprávních škol a prvních univerzit Evropy. Prvotně byla vymezena periodizace středověku a následně byly vysvětleny ony snahy o udržení a rozvinutí studia antiky. Poté byly popsány první evropské univerzity (jejich vznik, působení a význam), spolu s působením prvních studentů a profesorů. Následně byly dopodrobna rozebrány velmi přínosné římskoprávní školy středověku v podobě glosátorů a komentátorů (zde byly vymezeny počátky vzniku, jejich význačná činnost, významní představitelé a odkaz, který po sobě zanechali). A závěrečná kapitola práce patřila významu tohoto období pro povolání právník.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the study of Roman law at medieval universities, where the main part is devoted to the time since the rediscovery of the Roman law collections in the 12th century. The aim of the work is to define the famous arrival and effect of medieval Roman law schools and the first universities in Europe. Initially, the periodization of the Middle Ages was defined and subsequently the efforts to maintain and develop the study of antiquity. Then, the first European universities were described (their origin, effects and significance), together with the activities of the first students and professors. Subsequently, the very beneficial Roman law schools of the Middle Ages in the form of glossaries and commentators were analyzed in detail (the origins, their significant activities, important representatives and the legacy they left behind were defined here.) The last chapter of the thesis is dedicated to the meaning of this time for the lawyer profession.
