Antimicrobial effects of modified cellulose materials for wound dressing

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá studiem antimikrobiální aktivity obvazových materiálů na bázi karboxymethylcelulózy a jejích derivátů a také studiem antimikrobiální účinnosti textilních materiálů v kombinaci s kyselinou hyaluronovou a s jodovými preparáty na nejčastěji vyskytující se mikroorganismy v nehojících se ranách. V teoretické části jsou uvedeny různé druhy krytí, které se nejčastěji používají v praxi. Dále jsou uvedeny účinky a vlastnosti karboxymethylcelulózy a jejích forem, kyseliny hyaluronové a antimikrobiálních látek. Praktická část je zaměřena na zjištění antimikrobiálního efektu u testovaných materiálů pomocí difuzní agarové metody. Testované vzorky byly dodány panem Ing. Tomášem Sopuchem z firmy Holzbecher spol. s r. o. barevna a bělidlo Zlíč a panem doc. Ing. Ladislavem Burgertem, CSc. z Fakulty chemicko-technologické Univerzity Pardubice.

Abstract:

This thesis applies with the study of antimicrobial activity of dressings materials based on carboxymethylcellulose and their derivatives, and also by studying the antimicrobial effectivenesses of textile materials in combination with hyaluronic acid and with iodine preparations on the most frequent microorganisms found in chronic wounds. The theoretical part introduces the different types of wound dressing, that are used the most. Furthermore, are described the effects and properties of carboxymethylcellulose and their forms, hyaluronic acid and antimicrobial agents. The practical part is focused on the detection of the antimicrobial effect of the tested materials by the diffusion agar method. The tested samples were delivered by Ing. Tomas Sopuch from Holzbecher spol. s r. barevna a bělidlo Zlíč and Mr. doc. Ing. Ladislav Burgert, CSc. from the Faculty of Chemical Technology University of Pardubice.
