Monitoring of nutritional score and frailty in geriatric patiens.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá sledováním nutričního skóre a fragility u geriatrických pacientů. Geriatrické syndromy a geriatrická křehkost se stoupajícím věkem populace postihuje čím dál tím více seniorů. Geriatričtí pacienti jsou více ohroženi malnutricí a sarkopenií, které dále zhoršují jejich morbiditu i mortalitu. Hlavním cílem práce je zhodnocení nutričního stavu, nutriční intervence, výskytu geriatrické křehkosti a malnutrice na vzorku klientů v Alzheimer centru Ostrava. V teoretické části je rozebrána problematika stárnutí a výživy seniorů, geriatrických syndromů a geriatrické křehkosti, sarkopenie, malnutrice - její diagnostika a nová klasifikace, přehled nutričních screeningů a metod hodnocení nutričního stavu a na závěr nutriční intervence v geriatrii. Praktická část bakalářské práce se opírá o teoretická východiska vytyčená v její první části. Základem praktické části je kvalitativně orientovaný průzkum provedený zpracováním zdravotnické dokumentace klientů Alzheimer centra v Ostravě. Provedením statistické analýzy, jejím vyhodnocením, formulací hypotéz, jejich potvrzením nebo vyvrácením jsou dosaženy výsledky této práce, které jsou následně porovnány se studiemi a dalšími zdroji zabývajícími se touto problematikou.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the monitoring of nutritional score and fragility in geriatric patients. Geriatric syndromes and geriatric frailty affect more and more elderly people as the population ages. Geriatric patients are more at risk of malnutrition and sarcopenia, which further exacerbate their morbidity and mortality. The main aim of this study is to evaluate the nutritional status, nutritional intervention, prevalence of geriatric frailty and malnutrition in a sample of clients at the Alzheimer Centre in Ostrava. In the theoretical part, the issues of aging and nutrition of the elderly, geriatric syndromes and geriatric frailty, sarcopenia, malnutrition - its diagnosis and new classification, review of nutritional screening and methods of nutritional status assessment and finally nutritional intervention in geriatrics are discussed. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is based on the theoretical background set out in the first part of the thesis. The basis of the practical part is a qualitatively oriented research carried out by processing medical records of clients of the Alzheimer Centre in Ostrava. The statistical analysis, its evaluation, the formulation of hypotheses, their confirmation or refutation are the results of this work, which are then compared with studies and other sources dealing with this issue.
