Headlines And Subheadlines: Tense, Modality And Register Based on Discourse Analysis of the British Tabloid The Sun
Abstract:
V mojej práci som analyzovala titulky a podtitulky z britských bulvárnych novín The Sun, vzťah medzi nimi a jazykové prostriedky, ktoré do veľkej miery ovplyvňujú objektívnosť správ. Aby som zistila, do akej miery sa titulky a podtitulky líšia, porovnávala som dva sety z online verzie novín, kde som skúmala časy, modalitu a register.Abstract:
In my thesis I analysed headlines and subheadlines from the British tabloid The Sun, the relationship between them and the language devices that, to a great extent, affect the impartiality of news. I studied tenses, modality and register on two sets of headlines and subheadlines from the online version of the newspaper to find out how much they differ.
