Taxation on income derived from capital in selected countries

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce analyzuje jednotlivé systémy zdanění příjmů z kapitálového majetku (především pak z cenných papírů) v České republice a sedmi vybraných zemích Evropské unie z pohledu českého investora. Hlavní pozornost je zaměřena na to, jak musí český investor postupovat, má-li ve svém držení cenné papíry emitované v některé z vybraných zemí, chce-li uplatnit daň z výnosů z těchto cenných papírů na základě smlouvy o zamezení dvojího zdanění. Zjištěné informace jsou následně porovnány a je vyvozen celkový závěr o výhodnosti investování do cenných papírů emitovaných v některé z daných zemí.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis analyzes the systems of taxation on income derived from capital (especially securities) in the Czech Republic and seven selected countries of the European Union from the perspective of the Czech investor. The main attention is focused on what the Czech investor should do if he holds the securities issued in some of the selected countries and wants to apply tax on the income from these securities under the Double Tax Agreement. The information is then compared and a conclusion is reached about the advantages or disadvantages of investing in securities issued in some of the selected countries.
