Semiotic analysis of chlidren's educational literature with focus on critical thinking

Abstract:

Cílem práce je provést sémiotickou analýzu naučné dětské literatury, která bude následně využita pro vlastní literární tvorbu. K tomuto účelu je práce uvedena teoretickým seznámením s lingvistickými poznatky ze sémiotiky. Následně jsou některé z poznatků využity k sémiotické analýze zvolené naučné dětské publikace, kterou je kniha fyzikálních bajek. Získané informace z obou částí jsou následně použity pro vlastní tvorbu bajek, jejíchž hlavním cílem je poskytnout dětem základy kritického myšlení.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to write a semiotic analysis of children's educational literature, which should be used to make a new educational materials regarding this genre. The thesis is introduced by a theoretical part of the linguistic findings in semiotics. Subsequently, some of the findings are used for the semiotic analysis of the chosen educational children's book, which is a book of fables about physics. The knowledge gained from both parts is then used to create several fables of their own, the main aim being to provide children with the foundations of critical thinking.
