Comparison of monetary policy in the Czech Republic and the USA in the crisis years 2020-2023

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na analýzu měnové politiky v ČR a v USA během let 2020 až 2023 a na porovnání jejich podobností a odlišností. Práce obsahuje teoretické vymezení problematiky měnové politiky, popis ekonomické situace v krizovém období a analýzu kroků jednotlivých centrálních bank. Hlavním cílem bylo porovnat měnovou politiku ČNB a Fedu a zjistit jejich účinnost ve vymezeném období. Pro analýzu účinnosti byla použita korelační analýza, ze které vyplynula vysoká účinnost měnové politiky v ČR i v USA. Zároveň analýza kroků centrálních bank odhalila podobnost při použití hlavních nástrojů měnové politiky v ČR a USA.

Abstract:

This Bachelor Thesis is focused on the analysis of monetary policy in the Czech Republic and the USA during the years 2020 to 2023 and on the comparison of similarities and differences in these two countries. The theses contains a theoretical definition of monetary policy issues, a description of the economic situation in the crisis period and an analysis of the steps taken by individual central banks. The main goal was to compare the monetary policy of the ČNB and the Fed and to determine their effectiveness. A correlation analysis was used, and it showed the high effectiveness of monetary policy in the Czech Republic and in the USA. The analysis also revealed similarities in the use of main monetary policy instruments in both countries.
