Dichoptic masking threshold as a measure of sensory fusion efficiency in heterotropia with ARC.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá prahem dichoptického maskováním kontrastem (resp. suprese rozdílu rozostření (SRR)), jenž slouží jako hypotetický objektivní korelát síly (efektivity) senzorické fúze u oftalmologicky zdravých subjektů, ale také u subjektů s heterotropií spolu s anomální retinální korespondencí. Teoretická část obsahuje kapitoly, které se týkají jednoduchého binokulárního vidění, fúze, heterotropie, anomální retinální korespondence a také fyziologických supresních mechanismů (např. binokulární rivality nebo dichoptického maskování). Výzkumná část práce se věnuje měření prahu dichoptického maskování (resp. prahu suprese rozdílu rozostření) na počítačovém haploskopu u experimentální skupiny subjektů (s diagnostikovanou esotropií s anomální retinální korespondencí). Dále se zabývá porovnáním naměřených prahů SRR u experimentální a kontrolní skupiny a zkoumá vliv esotropie s anomální retinální korespondencí na hodnoty prahu SRR (resp. na efektivitu senzorické fúze).

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with dichoptic masking threshold (or interocular blur suppression (IOBS) threshold), which represents hypothetic objective correlate of fusion efficiency in ophthalmologically healthy subjects but also in subjects with heterotropia with anomalous retinal correspondence. The theoretical part contains chapters which deal with single binocular vision, fusion, heterotropia, anomalous retinal correspondence and also physiological suppressive mechanisms (e. g. binocular rivalry or dichoptic masking). The research deals with measurement of dichoptic masking threshold (or IOBS threshold) on computer haploscope at experimental group (with diagnosed esotropia with anomalous retinal correspondence). It also pursues with comparison of measured IOBS thresholds at experimental and control group and studies influence of esotropia with anomalous retinal correspondence on the value of IOBS threshold (or on the efficiency of sensory fusion).
