Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem „Ewa Jaślar-Walicka – harfistka a učitelka” je prací biografickou. Monografie ukazuje Ewu Jaślar v širokém spektru jejího působení od školních let v Polsku a zlomového okamžiku vycestování na Mezinárodní harfovou soutěž v Hartfordu ve Spojených státech v roce 1969, přes dlouholetou hudební kariéru v souboru The New York Harp Ensemble, až po návrat do vlasti po třiadvaceti letech a pedagogickou, pořadatelskou a popularizační činnost. Díky širokému tvůrčímu rozpětí Ewy Jaślar-Walické v oblasti hudby bylo možné věnovat jednotlivým aktivitám samostatné kapitoly. Zdrojem informací použitých v diplomové práci byly především rozhovory s mou dlouholetou učitelkou, dále novinové články a internetové prameny. Chtěla jsem také popsat pedagogické základy, na nichž jsou postaveny pracovní metody paní profesorky a náležitě ocenit její skutečný vliv na žáky a studenty. Tato monografie je první prací věnovanou Ewě Jaślar-Walické a dodatečnou motivací k jejímu napsání byl okamžik, kdy paní profesorka ukončila svou pedagogickou činnost na Státní všeobecně vzdělávací hudební škole Stanisława Moniuszka v Bílsku-Bělé v Polsku.

Abstract:

Master’s Thesis - „Ewa Jaślar-Walicka - harpist and teacher” - is a biographical work. This monograph follows Ewa Jaślar through a wide range of her work, including her formative school years in Poland, participation in the 1969 Hartford International Harp Competition in the United States, a long musical career with The New York Harp Ensemble, and her return to Poland after twenty-three years, with her subsequent pedagogical activities and efforts to popularize harp and organize concerts. Due to Ewa Jaślar-Walicka’s wide creative range in the field of music, each chapter in this thesis explores a separate musical activity or topic. Primary sources of information for this Master’s Thesis include interviews with Professor Jaślar, along with additional newspaper articles and online sources. This thesis describes the pedagogical foundations upon which Prof. Walicka’s teaching methods are based, in order to better appreciate her lasting impact on her students. This monograph is the first publication to focus on Prof. Jaślar-Walicka, and was additionally motivated by the occasion of Prof. Jaślar’s retirement from teaching at the Stanisław Moniuszko State Music School in Bielsko-Biala, Poland.
