Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem literární recepce jednoho z nejznámějších německých autorů Heinricha Heineho (1797 - 1856) především v první polovině 20. století. Úvodní historicko- kulturní část se skládá z přehledu recepce v Čechách, následující pak z analýzy překladů jedné Heinovy balady Ich weiß nicht, was soll es bedeuten (1824), která byla českými autory mnohokrát překládána.
