Development of the Reading Skill with Understanding in the Second Grade of the Basic School.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Rozvoj dovednosti čtení s porozuměním na druhém stupni ZŠ obsahuje dvě části: teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část pojednává o tématech, která se vztahují k problematice čtení s porozuměním. Mezi tato témata patří výuka čtení na 1. stupni ZŠ, metody, které jsou používány při výuce čtení a metody, které napomáhají rozvoji čtení s porozuměním. Důležitou částí je oddíl zabývající se programem Čtením a psaním ke kritickému myšlení. Také je věnována kapitola nejznámějším výzkumům, které se zabývají měřením dovedností a vědomostí žáků jak u nás, tak ve světě. Kapitola obsahuje i výsledky českých žáků v těchto průzkumech z oblasti čtenářské gramotnosti. Praktická část prezentuje výsledky vlastního výzkumu v oblasti čtení s porozuměním u žáků devátého ročníku ZŠ. Testování proběhlo celkem v patnácti třídách ze sedmi základních škol. Ověřovali jsme dovednost číst s porozuměním pomocí testů, které jsme sami vytvořili. Tyto testy mají podobu uzavřených otázek s výběrem z několika možností, kdy je právě jedna odpověď správná. Testové otázky se vztahovaly k vhodně vybraným výchozím textům. Zjištěné výsledky jsou zaznamenány v grafech. Všechny získané odpovědi jsou součástí přílohy, stejně tak i samotné testy včetně správných odpovědí.

Abstract:

The thesis Development of the reading skill with understanding in an upper primary school consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with topics that relate to the reading with understanding. The aim of the theoretical part is to describe methods helping to develop reading skills. Furthermore it focus on the subject of testing concerning comprehension tasks. The theoretical part deals with teaching of reading skill in a lower primary school and the methods that are used to teach this. The important part is the section on program Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking. There is also a chapter focused on the most famous researches that deal with measuring student skills and knowledge. The chapter contains the results of Czech students in these surveys in the area of reading literacy. The practical part presents the results of our research on reading with understanding. Testing took place at seven primary schools, a total of fifteen ninth grade classes. Pupils answered testing tasks focused on comprehension. These tests take the form of closed questions with multiple choice answers. The results are recorded in the following charts. All the answers are included in the annex, as well as the tests with correct answers.
