Gender Fuck. The Subversive Potential of Non-Normative Gender Stategies

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem gender fucku, které nebylo zatím v akademickém prostředí příliš reflektováno. Snaží se ho zasadit do teoretického rámce. Výchozím paradigmatem je poststrukturalistické vnímání genderu, subjektu a těla. Využívá performativní teorii Judith Butler, která svým pojetím otevírá prostor pro subverzi, a tím je vhodným nástrojem k uchopení gender fucku, který se právě o takovou subverzi snaží. Gender fuck navazuje na queer theory, nesnaží se ale pouze o dekonstrukci, ale i o následnou rekonstrukci genderové podoby a genderových vztahů. Narozdíl od performativity, která je neuvědomovaná, gender fuck je vědomým aktem, záměrně se snaží nabourávat genderový pořádek, působí zmatení a rozostření hranic, vyvolává nejednoznačnost, snaží se o cílenou nehokerenci složek pohlaví/gender/touha. Konfrontuje tak okolí s jeho vlastní představou o naturalizované genderové podobě, odhaluje tak diskurzivní původ genderu. Práce se dále zabývá konkrétními podobami gender fucku, kriticky je reflektuje a vztahuje k teoretickým východiskům. Takovými strategiemi jsou gender blending, drag a transsgender. V poslední kapitole jsou formou terénních poznámek zpracované vlastní zkušenosti autorky s gender fuckem. Tyto zkušenosti jsou posléze interpretovány ve světle předkládaných teorií a poskytují tak účinný prostředek, který ukazuje možnosti a limity gender fucku a s tím spojené genderové subverze.

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis deals with the topic of gender fuck, which has not been overly reflected in academia yet. The thesis tries to insert it into the theoretic scope. The starting paradigm is poststructuralist perception of gender, subject and body. It uses the performative theory of Judith Butler, who, with her conception, opens up a space for subversion and by that is therefore a suitable tool for holding gender fuck, which aspires for such subversion. Gender fuck relates on the queer theory, but does not strive only for deconstruction, but also for further reconstruction of gender form and gender relations. In contrast to performativity, which is unconscious, gender fuck is a conscious act, which purposely tries to thwart gender order, causes puzzlement and defocusing of limits, evokes ambiguousness, strives for targeted non-coherency of constituents of sex/gender/desire. It confronts the environment with its own conception about naturalized gender form and reveals thus diskursus source of gender. The thesis furthermore deals with concrete forms of gender fuck, reflects them critically and refers them to theoretical datum. These strategies are gender blending, drag and transgender. In the last chapter, there are, by the way of field notes, compiled the own experience of the author with gender fuck. These experience are later interpret in the light of presumptive theories and offers thus an efficient resource, which shows possibilities and limits of gender fuck a with it connected gender subversion.
