Velký rozvoj e-learningu v posledních letech přináší potřebu poskytnout lidem nástroje k tvorbě studijních materiálů v elektronické podobě. Tyto aplikace přitom musí být jednoduché a srozumitelné, aby je mohli používat i lidé, kteří s výpočetní technikou nemají velké zkušenosti. A huge expansion of e-learning during the recent years shows the need of empowering people with tools for creating study materials in electronical form. These applications have to be easy-to-use and intelligible; even people who are not so familiar with IT should be able to use them.
