Abstract:

Finanční tíseň podniku je stavem, kdy je podnik konfrontován s akutním nedostatkem financí a značí jisté problémy v dostání svých závazků vedoucích až k bankrotu společnosti. Úkolem manažerů a vedení společnosti je se snažit této situaci vyhnout. Cílem této práce je predikovat možnou finanční tíseň v odvětví podniků působících na poli obchodníků s energiemi. K dosažení tohoto cíle je zvolena metoda komplexního hodnocení podniku pomocí bankrotních a bonitních modelů na vzorku pěti společností, které v České republice ve zvoleném odvětví podnikají. Před samotným výzkumem je provedena literární rešerše pro zjištění nejvhodnějších modelů a zároveň zjištění jejich případných omezení, které práce zmiňuje i ve své praktické části a snaží se tato omezení eliminovat, a to například využitím většího počtu modelů a následnou syntézou jejich výsledků pro dosažení cíle. Na základě výzkumu je zjištěno, že v daném odvětví bezprostřední bankrot firmám nehrozí, je však třeba výsledky dát také do kontextu s nefinančními ukazateli, se kterými však zvolené modely nepočítají.

Abstract:

Financial distress is a state when a company is confronted with an acute shortage of funds which indicates certain problems with meeting its liabilities and might result in the company going bankrupt. Management’s goal is to try to avoid such situations. The aim of this thesis is to predict possible financial distress in companies in the field of energy trading. To reach that goal, a method of a complex assessment of a company through bankruptcy and creditworthiness prediction models is used on a sample of five companies operating in the given field in the Czech Republic. The students provides suitable models and their possible limitations which are also mentioned in the practical part of the thesis which focuses on their elimination by using, e.g. multiple models, and consequently synthesizing the findings to reach the goal of this work. Based on the research, there is no imminent risk of bankruptcy in the selected companies, however, it is also necessary to look at them in the context of non-financial indicators which the chosen models do not take into consideration.
