The impact of the minimum wage on teenage employment
Abstract:
Tato práce se věnuje analýze vztahu mezi zákonnou minimální mzdou a zaměstnaností mladistvých (15-19 let) v České republice. Pracuji s čtvrtletními časovými řadami z období mezi roky 1999-2011. Z odhadnutých modelů vyplývá, že zvýšení minimální mzdy by mohlo vést k poklesu zaměstnanosti mladistvých, žádný z výsledků však nebyl statisticky významný. Abstract:
This paper analyzes relationship between legal minimum wage and teenage employment (15-19 years) in Czech Republic. The dataset consists of quarterly time-series during 1999 -- 2011. The results suggest that an increase in the minimum wage has a statistically insignificant negative effect on teenage employment.
