Roma Culture

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce na téma Romská kultura se zabývá tradiční romskou kulturou, její historií a tradicemi. Práci tvoří dvě části a to teoretická a empirická. Teoretická část práce se zabývá především vysvětlením základních pojmů a tradic romské kultury, které vychází ze studia odborné literatury. Dále se zaměřuje na sociální vyloučení Romů v důsledku úpadku tradiční romské kultury. V empirické části jsou uvedeny výsledky šetření získané na základě rozhovoru s jedinci romského etnika. Cílem šetření bylo zjistit, jaký vztah mají zástupci romské menšiny k vlastní kultuře, zda tradiční romské zvyky a tradice znají, dodržují je a jaký význam jim přikládají v soužití s Romy. Výsledky empirické části vypovídají o znalosti romské kultury, kterou již ale romská menšina příliš nedodržuje. Zároveň vypovídá o tom, kolik respondentů vnímá romské zvyky a tradice jako bariéru v soužití s většinovou společností.

Abstract:

Bachelor´s thesis on Roma culture deals with traditional Roma culture, history and traditions. The work consists of two parts: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part deals mainly with the explanation of basic concepts and traditions of the Roma culture, which is based on the study of literature. It also focuses on the social exclusion of the Roma as a result of the decline of traditional Roma culture. In the empirical part presents the results of an investigation based on an interview with Roma individuals. The target of the investigation finds the relationship of the representatives of the Roma minorities to their own culture, if traditional Roma customs and traditions they know and respect the importance they attach to the coexistence with the Roma. Empirical results demonstrate the knowledge of Roma culture, but already the Roma minority too not to comply. It also speaks volumes about how respondents perceive the Roma customs and traditions as a barrier for coexistence with the majority.
