Abstract:

Tata bakalářská práce se věnuje historii organizace zvané Ku Klux Klan od jejích počátků až do současnosti. Práci otevírá stručné popsání podstaty rasismu a xenofobie, dále pokračuje popisem důvodů jejího vzniku a také jejím vývojem spolu s osobnostmi, které tuto společnost vedly a jak ji také ovlivnili. Dále se zaměřuje na strategie a události, které dopomohly k rozšíření organizace do povědomí obyvatel a její značné oblibě; nezapomíná na dopad organizace na život Afroameričanů. Závěr práce je potom věnován srovnání Ku Klux Klanu s jinými militantními organizacemi a také současným tendencím organizace.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the history of the organization called the Ku Klux Klan from its beginnings up to the present time. A brief describtion of the essence of racism and xenophobia opens the thesis, it continues with the describtion of reasons why the organization was created and its development together with personalities that led the organization and influenced it too. Then it focuses on strategies and events that helped the organization expand into people´s mind and its considerable popularity; it does not forget to mention the impact on Afro-Americans. In the end the Ku Klux Klan is compared to other millitant organizations and deals with present tendencies.
