The Impact of Foreign Exchange Interventions of the Czech National Bank on a Selected Company

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zhodnotit dopad devizových intervencí České národní banky na vybraný podnik. První část práce definuje devizové riziko, jednotlivé druhy devizové expozice a možnosti jejího zajištění. Ve druhé části této práce je popsán průběh devizových intervencí České národní banky v jednotlivých letech období od roku 2013 do roku 2017. Tato část analyzuje vliv těchto intervencí na vybraný podnik. Je zde popsán dopad intervencí s cenovou konkurenceschopností podniku, dále s jeho cash flow a také dalšími vybranými ekonomickými ukazateli finanční analýzy. Ve třetí části této práce je popsána situace, která nastala po ukončení devizových intervencí. V této práci budou primárně využívány účetní výkazy daného podniku. Zároveň se předpokládá aplikace metod finanční analýzy. Pomocí dat plynoucích z těchto analýz budou formulovány závěry a doporučení, která se vztahují k činnostem podniku během i po intervencích.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the impact of foreign exchange interventions of the Czech National Bank on a selected company. The first part of the thesis defines the foreign exchange risk, individual types of foreign exchange exposure and the possibilities of its hedging. The second part of this work describes the course of foreign exchange interventions of the Czech National Bank in individual years from 2013 to 2017. This part analyzes the impact of these interventions on the selected company. It describes the impact of interventions with the price competitiveness of the company, as well as with its cash flow and other selected economic indicators of financial analysis. The third part of this work describes the situation that occurred after the end of foreign exchange interventions. In this work, the financial statements of the company will be used primarily. At the same time, the application of financial analysis methods is assumed. Using the data resulting from these analyzes, conclusions and recommendations will be formulated that relate to the company's activities during and after the interventions.
