Anotace:

The main aim of this thesis is to offer an understanding of the transformative power of performance in Women of Sand. To understand the transformative effect of the play on promoting social change, it is equally important to analyze the performance as much as the dramatic text in the play. This study examines how performance enhances social change and transformation in Women of Sand by analyzing certain performative components on stage. It also claims that understanding performance as trauma-driven contributes to the impact of social change and transformation in the play. Furthermore, it discusses that the performance is highly representational, and thus the play is effective at a universal level and it increases the potential for social change and transformation worldwide.
