Optimalization of concrete process - case study

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je optimalizace procesu svozu odpadu ve společnosti XYZ a prozkoumání možnosti využití stávajících implementovaných aplikací pro podporu optimalizovaného procesu. Teoretická část práce je věnována přehledu aplikací společnosti Microsoft pro podnikovou sféru a obecným informacím týkajících se modelování procesů a jejich optimalizaci. Praktická část práce nejprve seznamuje čtenáře s projektem „Plánování svozu odpadu“, který byl navržen a uveden v život ve spolupráci se společností XYZ. Následuje analýza požadavků na nové řešení, a to ze strany vedení společnosti, dispečerů jako hlavních uživatelů i z pohledu legislativy. Jako další je provedena analýza stávajícího procesu svozu odpadu, který je v následující kapitole optimalizován na základě několika základních principů. Poslední kapitola popisuje implementaci řešení, které má podpořit zavedení optimalizovaného procesu do společnosti. Pro implementaci byly zvoleny prostředky MS Exchange Server 2010 a MS Outlook 2010 rozšířený o doplněk pro integraci s informačním systémem ADG. Všechny produkty byly ve společnosti již implementovány, náklady na implementaci tedy byly velice nízké, ve výsledku téměř nulové.

Abstract:

The main topic of this thesis is the optimization of waste collection process in company XYZ and the exploration of possibilities to support the optimized process by using currently implemented applications. The theoretical part provides an overview of Microsoft products for the business sphere, as well as general information about business process modeling and optimization. The practical part at first introduces the “Waste collection planning” project which was designed and executed in cooperation with the company XYZ. The analysis of requests for the new solution follows – from the point of view of the company management, of dispatchers as the main users of the system, and also of the legislation. The next chapter is dedicated to the analysis of the waste collection process, the optimization principles of which and the optimization itself are then described.The last part of the thesis focuses on the implementation of the new system, which should support the optimized process in the company. Several applications were used for the implementation – MS Exchange Server 2010 and MS Outlook 2010 together with an add-on which integrates it to the system ADG. All these products had already been used in the company, so the implementation costs were very low, almost non-existing.
