Rod Trifolium zahrnuje několik významných kulturních druhů s uplatněním v zemědělství. Jetel luční (T. pratense L.) patří vzhledem k vysokým výnosům kvalitní píce k nejvýznamnějším pícninám v České republice i v Evropě. Genus Trifolium comprises several species of considerable agricultural importance. Red clover (T. pratense L.) is a wide-spread high-yielding and high-quality fodder crop in the Czech Republic as well as in the rest of Europe.
