The Role of the Adverbs Today, Tomorrow and Yesterday in FSP

Anotace:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá rolí adverbií today, tomorrow a yesterday ve funkční větné perspektivě (FSP). Hlavním cílem je potvrdit hypotézu, která říká, že daná adverbia se častěji objevují v tematické části věty než v rématické. Teoretická část popisuje adverbia jako slovní druh a poskytuje základy teorie funkční větné perspektivy. V praktické části je analyzováno devadesát distribučních polí, která jsou převzata z BNC. Výzkum je omezen pouze na beletrii. U jednotlivých složek distribučních polí jsou určeny syntaktické funkce, kontextová vázanost či nevázanost, dynamické sémantické funkce a FSP funkce. Ve shrnutí výsledků analýzy je kladen důraz na četnost výskytu adverbií today, tomorrow a yesterday, jejich syntaktické funkce, dynamické sémantické funkce, FSP funkce, kontextovou vázanost/nevázanost v rámci tematické sféry a postavení v distribučním poli.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the role of the adverbs today, tomorrow and yesterday in FSP. It aims to confirm the hypothesis that adverbs occur more often in the thematic part of a distributional field rather than in the rhematic part. The theoretical part describes the theory of adverbs and the theory of FSP. The practical part examines ninety distributional fields taken from the BNC. The distributional fields are interpreted from the point of view of syntactic functions, contextual dependence or independence, dynamic semantic functions and FSP functions. The analysis is restricted to fictional prose and summarizes the findings focusing on frequency of the adverbs under examination, their syntactic roles, dynamic semantic functions, FSP functions, context dependence/independence within the thematic layer and their position within a distributional field.
