Form of Water-Scrum-Fall in Czech corporate companies

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na výzkum podoby Water-Scrum-Fallu v českých korporátních společnostech. Cílem práce je popsat, jakou podobu má implementace Water-Scrum-Fallu ve výše zmíněném prostředí. Cíle práce je dosaženo prostřednictvím literární rešerše, kvalitativní metodou výzkumu a vyhodnocením získaných dat. V rámci rešerše jsou nejprve definovány a popsány vodopádový model, Scrum, hybridní metodiky a Water-Scrum-Fall. V případě Water-Scrum-Fallu jsou definovány i základní role, ceremonie a artefakty. Následně je popsána metoda provádění výzkumu. Jedná se o kvalitativní metodu – konkrétně interview. V této části je popsán postup sestavení tzv. interview guidu, metoda výběru participantů, charekteristika dotazovaného vzorku a postup vyhodnocení kvalitatních dat. Dále jsou prezentovány a analyzovány jednotlivé výsledky z interview, podložené konkrétními výroky participantů. Na základě těchto konkrétních výstupů je vytvořen generalizovaný popis podoby Water-Scrum-Fallu v České republice. V rámci této části je také zahrnuto průměrné hodnocení úspěšnosti projektů, využívajících Water-Scrum-Fall v České republice.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is analysing the Water Scrum-Fall in corporate companies in Czech republic. Its objective is to describe the form of implementation of Water-Scrum-Fall in this environment. The above mentioned objective is achieved by conducting literature review followed by qualitative method of research and its evaluation. The literature review analysed waterfall model, Scrum, hybrid methodologies and then specifically Water-Scrum-Fall. Within this part all the descriptions and definitions are presented while for Water-Scrum-Fall also the basic roles, ceremonies and artifacts are described. Consequently the methodology of research is described – in particular the qualitative approach – form of interviews. This part explains the process of the interview guide development, approach to participant sample selection, description of the sample composition and the data analysis process. Followingly the particular outputs from interviews are analyzed and supported by specific statements of the participants. Based on the collected data and statements the generalized description of the form of Water-Scrum-Fall in Czech republic is developed. This final output also includes the average succes rate of projects using the Water-Scrum-Fall in Czech republic.
