Escape game in mathematics at primary school with an alternative form of teaching

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tvorbou a realizací únikové hry v reálném prostředí třídy. Specificky je zaměřena na výuku matematiky v malotřídní škole aplikující alternativní formu výuky s Montessori principy. Zamýšlí se nad propojením tohoto alternativního typu vzdělávání s únikovou hrou. Na konkrétním příkladu popisuje proces tvorby, jednotlivé úkoly a vymezuje některé výzvy, kterým je nutné v takto specifickém prostředí čelit. Úniková hra je posléze aplikována v Montessori třídě (3. - 5. ročník 1. st. ZŠ) a její realizovatelnost ověřena evaluačními rozhovory s účastníky.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the creation and implementation of an escape game in a real classroom environment. It specifically focuses on mathematics teaching in a small classroom school applying an alternative form of teaching with Montessori principles. It reflects on the connection of this alternative type of education with the escape game. Using a concrete example, it describes the design process, the different tasks and identifies some of the challenges that have to be faced in such a specific environment. The escape game is subsequently applied in a Montessori classroom (3rd-5th grade of primary school) and its feasibility verified by evaluation interviews with the participants.
