Bakalářská práce se skládá ze dvou částí. V první, spíše teoretické části, se zabýváme životopisy obou spisovatelů, a tudíž i životopisným pozadím jejich literární tvorby. Dále zde věnujeme prostor rozvíjejícímu se čtenářskému zájmu Josefa Škvoreckého o Williama Faulknera, který byl posílen zájmem odborným, esejistickým a překladatelským. Abstract:
Bachelor thesis consists of two parts. In the first theoretical part the biographies of both writers are dealt with which means the biographical viewpoint of their literary work is presented. Part of the thesis is devoted to the developing reader's interest of Josef Škvorecký in William Faulkner, which was reinforced by the professional, essayistic and translator's interest.
