Petrol engine intake air flow monitoring using acoustic emission

Abstract:

V teoretické části této diplomové práce jsou popsány defektoskopické metody k odhalení povrchových i vnitřních vad. Zvláště je věnována pozornost metodě akustické emise a využití této metody v oblasti automobilismu. Dále je popsána konstrukce spalovacího pístového motoru a faktory ovlivňující spalování. Pozornost je věnována i porovnání spalovacích cyklů ideálních, teoretických a skutečných. V rámci experimentálního měření je prostřednictvím AE monitorováno proudění nasávaného vzduchu za intercoolerem a také uvnitř sání mezi škrtící klapkou a ventily. Primární je zjištění vlivu změny zatížení motoru při konstantních otáčkách na proudění nasávaného vzduchu. Data z AE jsou dále komparována s polohou škrtící klapky, tlakem nasávaného vzduchu a dalšími parametry.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of this thesis describes defectoscopic methods to detect surface and internal defects. Particular attention is paid to the method of acoustic emission and the use of this method in the automotive field. In the following part, the design of the internal combustion piston engine and the factors influencing the combustion are described. Attention is also paid to the comparison of ideal, theoretical and real combustion cycles. In the experimental measurement, the flow of intake air behind the intercooler and inside the intake between the throttle valve and the intake valves is monitored by method of AE. The primary goal is to determine the effect of a change in engine load at constant speed on the intake air flow. Data from AE are further compared with throttle position, air pressure and other parameters.
