Czech post as a provider of financial services

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na Českou poštu jako poskytovatele finančních služeb. V prvních částech práce je zmíněn pojem finance a jejich funkce, dále běžně využívané bankovní a pojistné produkty. V práci je zkráceně uveden vývoj aktivit v oblasti poštovnictví od šestnáctého století po vznik moderní pošty. Je představena Česká pošta jak z hlediska právního a organizační struktury, tak vývoje počtu zaměstnanců a hospodářského výsledku za posledních pět let. Další část je věnována nabízeným finančním službám, jak poštovním, tak bankovním a pojistným přes spolupráci s ČSOB. Finanční produkty jsou dále porovnány s produkty nabízenými Českou spořitelnou ke zhodnocení kvality nabídky. K práci se váže i dotazníkové šetření, které sloužilo k analýze segmentu zákazníků a hodnocení kvality poskytovaných služeb Českou poštou. Po vyhodnocení dat z dotazníku je provedeno shrnutí zjištěných dat, jak z dotazníku, tak komparace produktů. V závěru práce jsou zkráceně shrnuta zjištění a doplněny možné kroky ke zvýšení kvality finančních služeb.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the Czech Post as a provider of financial services. In the first parts of the thesis the concept of finance and its functions are mentioned, as well as commonly used banking and insurance products. The development of postal activities from the sixteenth century to the establishment of the modern post office is briefly presented in the thesis. The Czech Post is presented in terms of its legal and organizational structure, as well as the development of the number of employees and the economic result over the last five years. Another part is devoted to the financial services offered, both postal, banking and insurance services through cooperation with ČSOB. Financial products are further compared with those offered by Česká spořitelna to assess the quality of the offer. The thesis is also linked to a questionnaire survey used to analyse the customer segment and evaluate the quality of services provided by the Czech Post. After the evaluation of the data from the questionnaire, a summary of the findings, both from the questionnaire and the comparison of the products, is made. In the conclusion of the paper, the findings are briefly summarized and possible ways to improve the quality of financial services are included.
