The Mexican Revolution in three playwright generations

Abstract:

The aim of this work is the Mexican Revolution in three playwright generations. We’ve divided it into the following fields. The first one focuses on the explanation of the Mexican Revolution process. After that we deal with the Mexican Revolution Literature and also with the Mexican Theatre. Then we move on to the analysis of El gesticulador by Rodolfo Usigli, El atentado by Jorge Ibargüengoitia and ¡Que viva Cristo Rey by Jaime Chabaud. We try to confront these pieces of art from the artistic point of view and find out the differences in the conception of the Mexican Revolution in those art works.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá Mexickou revolucí v díle tří dramaturgů. Práce je rozdělena celkem do šesti částí, z nichž první tvoří úvod do problematiky Mexické revoluce a hledání národní idenentity. Následující dvě kapitoly představují shrnutí literatury o Mexické revoluci a nástin vývoje, který prodělala mexická divadelní scéna v průběhu 20. století. Zbývající tři kapitoly analyzují ona tři vybraná dramata, kterými jsou El gesticulador, jehož autorem je Rodolfo Usigli, El atentado od jeho žáka Jorgeho Ibargüengoitii a ¡Que viva Cristo Rey! od jednoho ze současných mexických dramaturgů, Jaimeho Chabauda. Jako cíl jsme si zvolili zjistit, zda se nějakým způsobem liší literární pojetí Mexické revoluce ve zmíněných třech divadelních hrách.
