Usage development of lasers in ophthalmology

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na vývoj aplikací laserů v očním lékařství. Jejím cílem je shrnout využití jak terapeutických, tak diagnostických laserů a popsat jejich historii. V úvodní části se zabývá obecnými poznatky o laserech – jejich konstrukcí, popisem činnosti a rozdělením. Lasery, které se nejčastěji využívají v oftalmologii, jsou obsahem samostatné kapitoly. Dále jsou rozepsány terapeutické lasery a jejich konkrétní aplikace na oko a diagnostické laserové přístroje. V posledních dvou částech se bakalářská práce zabývá vývojem laserové terapie a diagnostiky v očním lékařství od prvních experimentů se slunečním světlem až po současnost.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the development of the laser application in ophthalmology. Its goal is to summarize the usage of both therapeutic and diagnostic lasers and describe their history. The first part deals with general laser knowledge – their construction, the description of its function and their division. The most frequently used lasers in ophthalmology, are contained in own chapter. In other chapters, there are described therapeutic lasers and their particular application on the eye and diagnostic laser devices. Last two parts of the thesis deal with the development of a laser therapy and a diagnosis in ophthalmology from the first experiments with sunlight to the present.
