Managing gender diversity and eliminating gender inequality in the workplace

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá řízením genderové diverzity a možnou eliminací genderových rozdílů na pracovišti. Cílem diplomové práce je na základě dotazníku a polostrukturovaných rozhovorů zhodnotit řízení genderové diverzity ve vybraných třech nadnárodních podnicích, vnímání genderové diverzity zaměstnanci a také jejich názory na určitá podpůrná opatření. Literární rešerše stanovuje teoretické základy a přesah pojmu genderová diverzita. Tyto znalosti jsou využity v empirické části diplomové práce. Empirická část obsahuje výsledky dotazníkového šetření i rozhovorů, při čemž v každém podniku je odhalen prostor pro zlepšení řízení genderové diverzity. Pro minimalizaci těchto nedostatků jsou v následující kapitole formulována doporučení pro jednotlivé podniky. Doporučení jsou zaměřena na zefektivnění současného řízení genderové diverzity nebo na zavedení nových podpůrných opatření, která zahrnují například zlepšení komunikace, možnosti transparentního odměňování nebo také programy na podporu rodičů. Formulovaná doporučení by měla vést v podnicích k eliminaci genderových rozdílů na pracovišti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the management of gender diversity and the possible elimination of gender inequality in the workplace. Based on a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews, the aim of the thesis is to evaluate the management of gender diversity in three selected multinational companies, the perception of gender diversity by employees and their views on certain support measures. The literature search establishes the theoretical foundations and overlap of the concept of Gender Diversity. This knowledge is used in the empirical part of the thesis. The empirical part contains the results of the questionnaire survey and interviews, whereby in each company the scope for gender diversity management improvement is revealed. To minimize these gaps, recommendations for each enterprise are formulated in the following chapter. The recommendations are aimed at streamlining the current gender diversity management or introducing new support measures, which include, for example, improved communication, transparent remuneration options or also parent support programmes. The recommendations formulated should lead to the elimination of gender differences in the workplace.
