Saproxylic beetles tied to forest pine stumps in the Choceň Forest Administration

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaobírá významem borových pařezů pro faunu saproxylických brouků na lesní správě Choceň a také důležitostí hlavních faktorů, které nejvíce výskyt ovlivňovaly. Výzkum probíhal na třech lokalitách v oblasti Skutečska v Pardubickém kraji, v lesích Hesiny, Borek a Skála. Celkem byly instalovány fotoeklektorové pasti na 36 borových pařezech, rozdělených podle růstové fáze lesa. Výzkum probíhal od 2. dubna do 2. září 2023 a sběry byly prováděny po třech týdnech. Celkem bylo odchyceno 1 359 jedinců brouků, z toho 876 saproxylických. Jednalo se o 54 různých druhů a k tomu zástupci 4 čeledí blíže neurčených. Nejčastějšími druhy v pastech byly Hylastes attenuatus, Trixagus dermestoides, či Ampedus balteatus. Mezi nejdůležitější faktory ovlivňující výskyt druhů patřily míra zetlení, pokryvnost kůry a výška pařezu. Následně byla vyvozena doporučení pro lesní hospodářství.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the meaning of pine stumps for the fauna of saproxylic beetles in the Choceň Forest Administration and also the importance of the main factors that influenced the occurrence of saproxylic beetles. The research was carried out at three locations in the Skuteč region of the Pardubice Region, in the forests of Hesiny, Borek and Skála. In total, attracting light traps were installed on 36 pine stumps, divided according to the growth phase of the forest. The survey was conducted from 2 April - 2 September 2023 and collections were made after three weeks. A total of 1,359 beetle individuals were captured, of which 876 were saproxylic. These included 54 different species and representatives of 4 families not specified. The most common species in the traps were Hylastes attenuatus, Trixagus dermestoides, or Ampedus balteatus. The most important factors influencing the occurrence of species were the degree of branching, bark cover and stump height. Subsequently, recommendations for forest management were derived.
