Monetary Integration of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je posoudit vhodnost přistoupení České republiky k Evropské měnové unii. Nejprve jsou představeny výchozí pojmy, které s problematikou souvisí, dále měnové unie v historii a vývoj Evropské měnové integrace od počátků až po vznik společné evropské měny. Další část je věnována analýze dopadů přijetí eura ve vybraných evropských zemích, plnění maastrichtských kritérií Českou republikou a její stupeň ekonomické sladěnosti s Evropskou měnovou unií. V závěru práce je shrnutí získaných poznatků a vlastní doporučení pro Českou republiku.

Abstract:

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to assess the suitability of the Czech Republic's accession to the European Monetary Union. First, there are introduced the basic terms related to the issues. Next, monetary unions in the history and development of European monetary integration from the beginning to the creation of a European currency are described. The next part is focused on the analysis of the impact of euro admission in selected European countries, fulfilment of the Maastricht criterions by the Czech Republic and degree of economic conformity with the European Monetary Union. In conclusion, there is a summary of the acquired knowledge and own recommendations for the Czech Republic.
