This bachelor thesis deals with using music and poetry to highlight the importance of socio-cultural context in ELT. The theoretical part examines the interconnectedness of the concepts of language, culture and society, the characteristics and similarities of music and poetry, and advantages they present in language teaching and addressing socio-cultural issues.
