První část této práce obsahuje historii daní a jsou zde vymezeny základní pojmy daňové teorie. Druhá kapitola popisuje současnou daňovou soustavu České republiky a porovnává ji se stavem platným v roce 2007. Na příkladech je zjišťováno, zda vládou provedená daňová reforma, byla pro daňové poplatníky výhodná.
