Non-financial motivation for employees of the pharmaceutical company

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit preference nefinančních motivačních faktorů u zaměstnanců farmaceutické firmy. Na základě výsledků tohoto výzkumu bude možné poukázat firmě nejdůležitější preferované motivační faktory na základě pohlaví, věku, doby působení ve firmě, pracovního zařazení, úrovně firemní struktury a vzdělání. Dalším cílem bude zjistit, zda zaměstnanci považují nefinanční motivaci za důležitý faktor a zda je tento typ motivace schopen zvýšit jejich pracovní výkon. Kromě analýzy preferencí jsme také zkoumali, jak zaměstnanci vnímají důležitost nefinanční motivace a zda tato motivace může vést k vyššímu pracovnímu výkonu. Zajímali jsme se také o konkrétní nefinanční motivační faktory, které by zaměstnanci využili, a naopak o ty, které jim připadají nejméně důležité. V úvodu práce jsou definovány klíčové pojmy jako motivace, teorie motivace a nefinanční motivační faktory. V praktické části práce je představena metodologie výzkumu, která je založena na kvantitativním výzkumu a na sběru dat prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření. Dále jsou v této části práce popsáni respondenti a je zde provedena analýza a srovnání výsledků výzkumu v závislosti na pohlaví, věku, době působení ve firmě, pracovním zařazení, úrovni firemní struktury a vzdělání. Bylo stanoveno 8 výzkumných hypotéz, které byly ověřovány pomocí testu nezávislosti chí-kvadrát. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty výsledky praktické části práce s doporučením pro firmu.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to determine the preferences of non-financial motivational factors among employees of a pharmaceutical company. Based on the results of this research, it will be possible to point out to the company the most important preferred motivational factors based on gender, age, length of service in the company, job title, level of company structure and education. Another goal will be to find out whether employees consider non-financial motivation to be an important factor and whether this type of motivation is able to increase their work performance. In addition to analyzing preferences, we also investigated how employees perceive the importance of non-financial motivation and whether this motivation can lead to higher work performance. We were also interested in specific non-financial motivational factors that employees would use, and vice versa, in those that they find least important. Key concepts such as motivation, motivation theory and non-financial motivational factors are defined in the introduction of the work. In the practical part of the work, the research methodology is presented, which is based on quantitative research and data collection through a questionnaire survey. Furthermore, in this part of the thesis, the respondents are described and the research results are analyzed and compared depending on gender, age, length of service in the company, job title, level of company structure and education. 8 research hypotheses were established and verified using the chi-square test of independence. At the end of the work, the results of the practical part of the work are summarized with a recommendation for the company.
