The Course of the Privatization Process in the Energy Sector in the Czech Republic between the years 1990 and 2011

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je analyzovat vývoj privatizačního procesu elektroenergetického sektoru v České republice od počátku 90. let až do roku 2011. Východiskem bude stav elektroenergetiky před rokem 1989 a následný privatizační proces a významné majetkoprávní změny v tomto sektoru až do současnosti. Majetkoprávní změny v elektroenergetice jsou předmětem zájmu a diskuzí jak odborníků, ekonomů a politiků, tak i každého občana jako odběratele elektrické energie. V teoretické části této práce vysvětlím pojmy a definice související s tématem transformace českého hospodářství i s předmětem energetiky. Charakterizuji transformační proces, včetně všech jeho pilířů, přičemž důraz zde budu klást na změny vlastnických práv. V praktické části práce nejprve charakterizuji důležité souvislosti ve vývoji elektroenergetiky a analyzuji stav tohoto odvětví před rokem 1989 do současnosti.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the course of the privatization process in the energy sector in the Czech Republic between the years 1990 and 2011. The analysis starts with a description of the energy sector before 1989 and continues with the privatization process and important changes concerning the property rights in the energy sector up to the present day. The changes regarding the property rights in the energy sector are the subject of interest and discussion not only among economic experts and politicians, but also among all citizens who purchase electricity. In the theoretical part of this thesis all necessary terms and definitions related to the subject of Czech transformation and the energy sector are explained. The process of the transformation of the Czech economy is analysed, with the emphasis put on the changes of property rights. In the empirical part of this thesis an analysis of important steps in the privatization process of the energy sector between the years 1989 and 2011 is carried out.
