Re-Mythologizing in Contemporary Art

Abstract:

Dizertační práce se zabývá hermeneutikou uměleckých děl. Jsou hledány takové možnosti vyslovení obrazu, které by přesahovaly oblast teorie i praxe umění. V první části Obraz jako příběh je prezentován a interpretován snový materiál, který se vztahuje obecně k tvorbě díla. Tato narativní struktura odhaluje okolnosti a podmínky své vlastní geneze i ontologický rozměr produkce umění. V krátkých příbězích je bilancován vztah tvořivého aktu k objektivním rámcům a je poukázáno na kontinuitu těchto dvou režimů. Souvztažně jsou sledovány i některé analogie s kulturním a sociálním prostorem, který tyto relace taktéž odráží. Vyprávění je v této části pojato jako syntetizující modus mezi neidentickými aspekty umělecké tvorby a definujícím charakterem vědy. V druhé části Spontánní umění je užito metod fenomenologie k výkladu konkrétních uměleckých výstupů. Tyto obrazy byly sebrány na základě zveřejněného inzerátu v časopisu Ateliér, který nabádal umělce hraniční oblasti k publikaci jejich díla. Jejich výrazové akty byly poté restituovány ve verbálním pohybu, byly uchopeny v procesu remytizace. Slovní vyjádření, kterými byla tato díla zprostředkovávána, amplifikují symbolickou výpověď vlastního obrazu v nové kompozici. Tato jazyková skladba by měla čtenáři otvírat další prostor k intimnímu prožívání obrazu, ukázat imaginaci jako prostředníka svobodného poznání a umění předvést jako epifanii tajemství.

Abstract:

This dissertation thesis deals with the hermeneutics of works of art. Possibilities for interpretation, that could overrun the area of theory and praxis in art, are being sought. In the first part called Painting as a story the dream material is presented that is generally related to the process of creation of a work of art. This narrative structure reveals the conditions and circumstances of its own genesis as well as an ontological dimension of production of art. The relation of the creative act to the objective scope is reviewed through a couple of short stories and the continuity of those two ways is shown. Furthermore, some analogies between the cultural and social sphere are also observed. The story is accepted as the synthetizing mode between non-identical aspects of artistic creation and defining the pattern of science. In the second part called Spontaneous Art the method of phenomenology is used to explain particular works of art. Those paintings were collected using an advertisement published in Ateliér magazine, which encouraged artists to release their artwork. Their acts of expression were then reinterpreted in a verbal mode; they were conceived in the process of remythologizing. The verbal explications that interpret those works of art amplify the symbolic statement of the original painting in a new arrangement. This verbal composition should open a new space for an intimate experiencing of the painting for a reader, show imagination as a mediator of free understanding and present art as revelation of secret.
