Predicting customer payment morale using data mining techniques

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je navrhnout metodiku pro segmentaci odběratelů podle platebního chování (morálky). K tomu jsou využity a srovnány deskriptivní i prediktivní přístupy založené na metodách data miningu. Je navrženo skóre, pomocí kterého je u každého odběratele sledován vývoj platebního chování v čase, je proto možné pozorovat trend i výkyvy v chování. Dále je zkoumáno, zda je možné pomocí historických dat předpovídat, kdy dojde k úhradě právě vystavené faktury. Jsou diskutovány přínosy navrhnutých řešení i způsoby jejich nasazení do praxe.

Abstract:

This thesis aims to design a methodology for customer segmentation based on payment behaviour (morale). Descriptive and predictive data mining techniques are used for this purpose. A score is designed to monitor the customer payment behaviour development over time so that trends and fluctuations in behaviour can be observed. Furthermore, it is investigated how could historical data be used to predict the settlement of the date of the issued invoice. The implementation and potential benefits of these functionalities are discussed.
