Organic foods consumption in Germany

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na analýzu trhu s biopotravinami v Německu a potažmo na spotřebu biopotravin v této zemi. Cílem je vymezení pozice německého trhu s biopotravinami vůči vybraným státům Evropy i v celosvětovém měřítku, charakteristika německého trhu a popsání jeho specifik. Ve třetí kapitole se práce zabývá definicí pojmu biopotravina, legislativou a značením. Dále je zde zkoumána úloha biopotravin ve spotřebě potravin, tedy jejich význam pro lidskou společnost, životní prostředí a zdravotní aspekty konzumace biopotravin. Je zde také popsán rozdíl mezi konvenčními potravinami a biopotravinami. Čtvrtá kapitola pak podrobně charakterizuje spotřebu biopotravin v Německu a německý trh s biopotravinami. Získané informace jsou dále využity pro komparaci s vybranými evropskými státy. V páté kapitole je německý trh s biopotravinami zkoumán dle jednotlivých kategorií potravin a také je zde provedena produktová analýza kategorií ovoce, zelenina a veganské potraviny z hlediska jejich podílu na obratu trhu a vývojových trendů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on analyzing the market with organic foods in Germany, as well as consumption of organic foods in the state. The goal is to outmark the position of the german organic foods market compared to other European states and on a global scale, characteristics of the market in Germany and describing it's specifics. The third chapter looks into the definiton of the term organic food, the legal aspects and labeling. It also inspects the role and outcomes of consuming the organic foods, describing it's value towards human society, environment and effects on health. Moreover it describes the difference between organic and conventional foods. The fourth chapter then thoroughly characterises the market and consumption of organic foods in Germany. Collected information is then used for comparison with selected European states. In the fifth chapter, the german market with organic foods is studied in individual categories of eatables and then a product analysis of fruit, vegetables and vegan food categories is made in light of their portion of sales and developmental trends.
