This bachelor thesis examines Zen Buddhist tendencies in the art of the 1950s in Europe and North America, with a particular focus on the French artist Yves Klein. It introduces Zen Buddhism and explains its diffusion into Western society during this period, and surveys the key artworks of Yves Klein's artistic output.
