The influence of compression stockings on the loading of foot arch and stance phase in distance running

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zjistit, zda mají kompresní podkolenky vliv na zatížení klenby nožní, a zda se liší biomechanické parametry nohy při stojné fázi u vytrvalostního běhu s kompresními podkolenkami a bez nich. Měřenými parametry byla variabilita a koordinace pohybu mezi jednotlivými segmenty nohy během stojné fáze běhu, úhel hlezna při prvním kontaktu nohy s podložkou a velikost klenby nožní. Kinematické parametry stojné fáze byly získány z kinematické analýzy prostřednictvím systému Qualisys a software Visual 3D. Klenba nožní byla porovnávána při stoji na podoskopu, byl vytvořen snímek a následně byla hodnocena pomocí indexu nohy dle Srdečného a dle Chippauxe-Šmiráka. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 16 probandů, na nichž byl aplikován multisegmentální model nohy. Všichni probandi byli muži ve věku od 24 do 41 let. V rámci výzkumného šetření bylo provedeno první měření náhodně bez/s kompresními podkolenkami a následně v jiný den druhé měření bez/s kompresními podkolenkami, výsledky jednotlivých měření byly vyhodnoceny a porovnány. Práce proběhla v laboratorních podmínkách Centra diagnostiky lidského pohybu v Ostravě.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out whether the compression stockings have an the influence on the loading of the foot arch, and whether the biomechanical parameters of the foot in the stance phase differ in distance running with or without compression stockings. Measured parameters were the variability and coordination of movement between the individual foot segments during the stance phase of the run, the angle of the ankle at the first contact of the foot with the load-bearing pad and the size of the foot arch. The kinematic parameters of the stance phase were obtained from kinematic analysis using Qualisys and Visual 3D software. The foot arch was compared when standing on the podoscope, a picture was created and subsequently evaluated using a foot index according to Srdečný and Chippaux-Šmirák. The research involved 16 runners on which a multi-segmental foot model was applied. All runners were men aged 24 to 41 years. In the framework of the research, the first measurement was done randomly without / with compression stockings and subsequently on another day the second measurement without / with compression stockings, the results of the individual measurements were evaluated and compared. The thesis was carried out in the laboratory conditions of the Center for human movement diagnostics in Ostrava.
