Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na postoj personálních asistentů k pozitivním emocím při práci s klienty s poraněním míchy v britské organizaci Active Assistance. Postoj, který tito pomáhající pracovníci zaujímají, může ovlivnit asistenci a celkový well being klienta i asistenta samotného. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak personální asistenti vnímají pozitivní emoce a jak je v asistenci využívají. Jak je tímto postojem ovlivněn přístup ke klientovi a jeho well being. První část práce vymezuje teoreticky základní pojmy hlavní výzkumné otázky a to: pozitivní emoce, práce s lidmi s poraněním míchy, popis organizace Active Assistance, využití pozitivních emocí při práci s lidmi s poraněním míchy. Další část teoreticky vysvětluje koncept postoje. Metodologická část popisuje použitou kvalitativní výzkumnou strategii. V její rámci byla použita metoda polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Data jsou analyzována metodou otevřeného kódování. Závěr práce obsahuje odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku, intervenční proměnné, doporučení pro praxi a návrhy na další výzkum.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on personal assistants’ attitude about positive emotions while working with clients with spinal cords injuries in the British organization Active Assistance. Attitude adapted by these helpers can influence their work as well as the general well-being of both the client and themselves. The goal of the study is to clarify how personal assistants perceive their positive emotions and use them in their work. The first part of the thesis outlines basic concepts connected with the research question: positive emotions, working with people with spinal cord injuries, description of Active Assistance, usage of positive emotions when working with people with spinal cord injuries. In the next part, the concept of attitude is defined theoretically. The methodological part describes qualitative research strategy used. A semi-structured method interview was used as a part of this approach. An open coding method is used for analysing the data. The conclusion then incorporates answer the main research question, intervening variables, recommendations for personal assistant practice and suggestions for further research.
