Anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility of ferromagnetic grains with different geometry

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o základním metodickém výzkumu krystalů magnetitu a jejich anizotropie magnetické susceptibility. Byly zkoumány jak jednotlivé krystaly, tak jejich kombinace měřené uvnitř plastové nemagnetické krabičky. Anizotropie byla detailně korelována s krystalografickými osami magnetitů, a pak také relativně s objemem hmoty v případě měření více krystalů v sestavě při jednom měření. Výsledky ukázaly, že v přítomnosti pouze jednoho krystalu magnetitu v hornině nezáleží na jeho umístění ani natočení. Výsledné hodnoty jsou vždy stejné. Pokud je v hornině více než jeden krystal magnetitu potom směr K1 prochází nejdelším uspořádáním krystalů vyskytujících se v hornině. Pokud se však v hornině vyskytují magnetity o různé velikosti, je pravděpodobné, že K1 mění směr podle největšího z nich. Anizotropie magnetické susceptibility a její tvarová charakteristika se mění se vzdáleností mezi krystaly, jejich rozmístěním i natočením.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with basic methodological research of magnetite crystals and their anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility. Both individual crystals and their combinations measured inside the plastic non-magnetic box were examined. Anisotropy was correlated with the crystallographic axes of magnetites, and then also relatively with the volume of matter in the case of measurement of multiple crystals in the assembly at a single measurement. The results showed that location or rotation of only one magnetite crystal in the rock does not matter and the resulting data are always the same. If there is more than one magnetite crystal in the rock, then K1 passes through the longest arrangement of crystals occurring in the rock. However, if magnetites of different sizes are present in the rock, it is likely that K1 changes direction according to the largest of them. Anisotropy magnetic susceptibility and shape change with the distance between the crystals, their arrangement and rotation.
