User preferences of the digital video game distribution platforms on PC

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na distribuci počítačových her skrze digitální herní distribuční platformy na PC z pohledu uživatele. Cílem výzkumu je zjistit, jestli a z jakého důvodu uživatel preferuje určitou digitální herní distribuční platformu, a také je stanovena hypotéza, že uživatelé budou preferovat pouze jednu digitální herní distribuční platformu. Kvantitativní výzkum metodou online dotazníku byl zaměřen na české uživatele z herních komunit na PC. V analýze výsledků, ve které je poté potvrzena stanovená hypotéza. Ačkoliv uživatelé aktivně využívají často hned několik digitálních platforem, tak naprostá většina respondentů preferuje pouze jednu z těchto platforem. Z hlediska funkcí dotazovaní respondenti považují za nejdůležitější příznivost ceny digitální platformy, dále seznam přátel, reputaci provozovatele, zákaznickou podporu a cloudové úložiště.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the distribution of computer games through digital game distribution platforms on a PC from the user's point of view. The aim of the research is to find out if and for what reason the user prefers a certain digital gaming distribution platform, and it is also hypothesized that users will prefer only one digital gaming distribution platform. Quantitative research using the online questionnaire method focused on Czech users from gaming communities on the PC. In the analysis of the results, in which the established hypothesis is then confirmed. Although users often actively use several digital platforms, the vast majority of respondents prefer only one of these platforms. In terms of features, respondents consider the price of the digital platform to be the most important, as well as the list of friends, the reputation of the company, customer support and cloud storage.
