Social and Labour Law of the European Union

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with social and labour law of the European Union. Due to the complexity of a theme of this thesis we divided it into six chapters. The main characteristics of the European Union, its emergence, goals and its institutions are discussed in the first chapter. In the second chapter we talk about the social law of the European Union, its sources, emergence, goals and social security for the European Union citizens itself. The labour law we discuss in the chapter 3. This chapter is divided into four subheadings. The subheadings focus on the sources of the labour law, individual and collective labour law and also we show the way how to search for the legislation. The chapters two and three are the core work of this thesis as they talk about the main characteristics of the social and labour law of the European Union. The chapter 4 and 5 are talking about the European Union labour market. The last chapter is aiming to describe the entry of the Slovak Republic to the European Union and the application of European social and labour law to the Slovak law system. The very important part of the entry to the European Union is also a possibility for the Slovak citizens to join the European labour market.

Abstract:

Práca sa zaoberá sociálnym a pracovným právom Európskej únie. Kvôli komplexnosti témy sme prácu rozdelili do šiestich kapitol. Základná charakteristika Európskej únie, jej vznik, ciele a jednotlivé orgány sú obsiahnuté v 1. kapitole. V 2. kapitole sa venujeme sociálnej politike Európskej únie, prameňom, cieľom a samotnému sociálnemu zabezpečeniu určenému občanom členských štátov. Pracovné právo rozoberáme v 3. kapitole, ktorú sme rozdelili na štyri podkapitoly. Jednotlivé podkapitoly sa zameriavajú na individuálne a kolektívne pracovné právo a jeho pramene. Taktiež tu uvádzame spôsob vyhľadávania legislatívy. Jadrom celej práce sú 2. a 3. kapitola, obsahujúce základné informácie o sociálnom a pracovnom práve Európskej únie. Trhu práce v Európskej únii sa venuje 4. a 5. kapitola. Posledná 6. kapitola je dôležitá z hľadiska vstupu Slovenskej republiky do Európskej únie. V nej sme sa zamerali na základné informácie o pripojení sa Slovenskej republiky k členským štátom, so zameraním sa na aplikáciu európskeho sociálneho a pracovného práva do slovenského právneho systému. Jej dôležitou súčasťou je aj otvorenie trhu práce a rozšírenie pracovných možností pre občanov Slovenskej republiky v rámci Európskej únie.
