Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá osobností malíře a grafika Jaroslava Vožniaka (1933–2005), jehož tvorba, výjimečná svou svébytností, mnohotvárností či vazbou na dobové umělecké tendence v zahraničí, je v porovnání s jinými souputníky stále poněkud nedoceněna. Vožniak se ve svém díle dotkl pop-artu, dadaismu, surrealismu či abstraktního expresionismu. Mimořádný úspěch mu přinesla šedesátá léta, a to především díky jeho osobité reflexi pop-artu, jíž se diplomová práce věnuje blíže a ilustruje ji například na cyklu Ikon z let 1967–1968. Nedílnou součástí je zasazení Vožniakova díla do kontextu tvorby Theodora Pištěka (1932). Dílo obou autorů vykazuje řadu podobných znaků a přístupů, významové pojítko mezi oběma umělci představuje zejména Pištěkův obraz Portrét přítele (1976), jenž je nadčasovou alegorií Vožniakovy osobnosti. Podobná spojitost mezi dílem Jaroslava Vožniaka a Theodora Pištěka nebyla dosud v kunsthistorické literatuře reflektována, a proto si diplomová práce klade za cíl přinést v této oblasti nové poznatky. Vedle Pištěka je Vožniakovo dílo rovněž konfrontováno s dílem Mikuláše Medka (1926–1974) a rozvedeno do dalších souvislostí.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the painter and graphic artist Jaroslav Vožniak (1933–2005), whose work, which is exceptional for its distinctiveness, variety of forms or connection to the artistic tendencies abroad at that time is still somewhat underestimated in comparison with other fellow artists. In his work, Vožniak touched pop-art, dadaism, surrealism or abstract expressionism. The 1960s brought him extraordinary success mainly due to his distinctive reflection of pop-art, which the diploma thesis deals with more closely and illustrates it, for example, in the series called Icons from 1967–1968. An integral part is the setting of Vožniak´s work in the context of the work of Theodor Pištěk (1932). The work of both authors exhibits a number of similar signs and approches, and the meaning of connection between both artists is represented mainly by Pištěk´s painting Portrait of a friend (1976), which is a timeless allegory of Vožniak´s personality. A similar connection between the work of Jaroslav Vožniak and Theodor Pištěk has not yet been reflected in the art history literature, and therefore the aim of this diploma thesis is to bring new knowledge in this area. In addition to Pištěk, Vožniak´s work is also confronted with the work of Mikuláš Medek (1926–1974) and elaborated into other contexts.
