The Development of a Personal Approach in Beginning Systemic Therapists

Abstract:

Na profesní vývoj terapeutů lze nahlížet jako na vývoj jejich osobního terapeutického přístupu. Výzkumy naznačují, že terapeuti mají tendenci si aktivně vytvářet vlastní terapeutický styl, než aby pouze slepě kopírovali manualizované návody z výcviku. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá utvářením osobního terapeutické-ho přístupu u začínajících systemických terapeutů. Jedná se o kvalitativní studii, která využívá metodu za-kotvené teorie. Výzkumný soubor tvoří devět respondentů, se kterými byly provedeny polostrukturované rozhovory. Výsledný model předkládá čtyři hlavní kritéria, utváření osobního terapeutického přístupu (Soulad s vnitřním nastavením, užitečnost pro klienta, směrnice z výcviku a požadavky zaměstnavatele). Hlavní kategorie následně popisuje interakce mezi těmito kritérii. Výsledky naznačují, že zkušeností, neustálým balancováním a hledáním kompromisu mezi těmito čtyřmi kritérii vzniká terapeutův jedinečný osobní terapeutický přístup.

Abstract:

Psychotherapist professional development can be viewed as the development of a therapist’s personal approach. Research suggests that therapists tend to actively create their own therapeutical style rather than blindly copy the instructions from their training program. This thesis describes the formation of a personal therapeutic approach in systemic novice therapists. It is a qualitative study which utilizes the grounded theory method. The explored group of participants consists of nine novice therapists who were taking part in semi-structured interviews. The resulting model presents four main criteria for developing a personal therapeutic approach (Internal congruence, Client satisfaction, Training guidelines, and Employer requirements). The main category then describes interactions between established criteria. Results suggest that through experience, constant balancing and finding a compromise between these four criteria therapist develops his or her unique personal approach.
