Development Trends Of Biometric Systems

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na vývoj a aplikaci biometrických identifikačních systémů v komerční bezpečnosti. Je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části je obecně popsán termín biometrie, a biometrické identifikace, její historie a vývoj včetně nejznámějších představitelů tohoto oboru, kteří se velkou měrou zasloužili o jeho vznik a rozvoj. Dále jsou zde popsány principy, podstata a základní charakteristiky biometrické identifikace a biometrických systémů spolu s výhodami i nevýhodami jejich používání. Závěr teoretické části pojednává o hodnocení biometrických systémů a doporučení pro praktické použití. Na toto navazuje praktická část, která je zaměřena na výběr, porovnání a aplikaci vhodného biometrického identifikačního systému do reálného prostředí. Na základě rozboru praktických vlastností systémů jsou vybrány dvě nejvhodnější technologie, které jdou dále detailněji popsány. Praktické výsledky jsou zaneseny do SWOT analýzy, díky níž získáme relevantní data pro hodnocení vybraných systémů. Z této analýzy lze také odvodit reálné možnosti, případně komplikace při využití biometrických systémů, které výrobce neuvádí. Závěrem této práce je provedeno vyhodnocení získaných dat a definovány doporučení pro praktické nasazení těchto systémů

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis describes the development and application of biometric identification systems in the field of commercial security. It's split into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the terms biometry and biometric identification are described in general, as well as the history and development of the identification, including the most significant representatives of the field who have greatly contributed to its establishment and further development. This part then describes the principles, the basis and primary haracteristics of biometric identification and biometric systems, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of their usage. The conclusion of the theoretical part is concerned with the evaluation of biometric systems and recommendations for their deployment in practice. This is complemented with the practical part which deals with choosing, comparing and applying a suitable biometric identification system in a real environment. Based on an alysisis of the practical features of the various systems, two most suitable technologies are selected which are subsequently described in greater detail. Practical results are entered into a SWOT analysis, thanks to which relevant data is gained to evaluate the chosen systems. From this analysis, the real possibilities and potential issues not specified by the manufacturers when deploying the biometric systems may also be implied. In the conclusion of the thesis, the gained data is evaluated and recommendations for practical deployment of these systems are defined.
